ILTER History

 

 

  • 1993 September, Establishment of the International Long Term Ecological Research network at Estes Park (Colorado) US All Scientists Meeting
     
  • 1994 First ILTER Annual Meeting and Coordinating Committee was formed in Rothampsted, UK.
     
  • 1994 NSF/HAS project “Development of Hungarian-American collaborative research efforts: Biodiversity and Long term ecosystem Research”.
     
  • 1995 As the result of the above project Hungary joined officially to ILTER, ILTER business meeting and Workshop on the EURECO in Budapest.

Forming the CEE Re gional ILTER Network 

Following the joining of Czech Republik in 1996, Poland 1998 and Slovakia 2000, the ILTER Central- and Eastern European regional network was established and regional ILTER workshops were organized:

  • 1998 ILTER CEE Regional Workshop in Madralin, Poland “Long Term Ecological Research: Examples, Methods Perspectives for Central Europe”.
     
  • 1999 ILTER Regional Workshop in Budapest “Cooperation in Long Term Ecological Research in Central and Eastern Europe”.
     
  • 2000 ILTER Regional Workshop in Nitra, Slovakia,
     
  • 2001 Praha, Czech Republic. The 4th CEE (Central and East European) Regional Meeting of the ILTER Program. Towards the 21st Century.
     
  • 2002 Zvolen, Slovak Republic. Joining the IUFRO Congress.
